United Seafarers Mission – Acknowledging God’s Faithfulness and Our Supporters

The Seafarers’ Mission isn’t just about ships, sailors, and the sea. At its heart, it’s the Gospel in action—answering Jesus’ call to “welcome the stranger” and “care for the sojourner” (Matthew 25:35, Deuteronomy 10:19).

For over 60 years, God’s people here in Tauranga have opened their arms to men and women from across the world who arrive by ship, far from home and family. And time and again, we have seen God’s faithful provision for this ministry.

Our heartfelt thanks to the partners who make our work possible: the ITF Seafarers’ Trust for our new van, Maritime New Zealand for supporting our team, The Sailors’ Society for our port lease, Soul Purpose for their annual giving, and Quentosity for creating our wonderful new website.

Together, their generosity helps us meet practical needs while showing Christ’s love to the nations who come to our shores.

As Psalm 107:23–30 reminds us: “Some went out on the sea in ships… They saw the works of the Lord, His wonderful deeds in the deep.”
